Sasteh’s Slammin Tofu

2 pounds tofu, drained and sliced

Bragg Liquid Aminos

2 cups all purpose flour

1 cup finely ground cornmeal

A pinch each of curry, onion powder, garlic power,and dried thyme

Marinate sliced tofu 1 hour in Bragg Aminos to cover.  Combine flour, cornmeal, and spices for breading.  Drain tofu and pat dry, then bread each slice.  Deep-fry in vegetable oil until light brown.

 

Gravy

2 medium onions, coarsely chopped

3 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil or other light oil

Bragg Liquid Aminos

A pinch each:  black pepper and dried basil

⅓ cup all-purpose flour

1 cup water

½ barbecue sauce

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Saute chopped onions in ½ cup water until limp.  Add Bragg Aminos, oil, spices, and barbecue sauce.  Add flour and ½ cup water gradually.  Stir into gravy.

Arrange sliced, fried tofu in rows in a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.  Cover with gravy, cover pan with foil, and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
