Dra. Bianca Jackson

Bianca Jackson is a coloratura soprano and Assistant Professor of Music at Norfolk State University. She teaches applied voice, African American Music, diction, and vocal pedagogy. Bianca performs a wide range of genres, including classical, folk, and contemporary. She has performed across the U.S. and in Italy and in the chorus of the Virginia Opera during its latest season. Awards include an encouragement award from the Metropolitan National Council Auditions New Orleans district and first place in the Texoma NATSAA South Texas district auditions.

Bianca earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from The University of Texas at Austin with certification in African and African American Studies, Master of Music from The University of Louisiana at Monroe, and Music Performance and Music Education degrees from Tougaloo College.
