Nogless egg nog shake

  1. In a blender, puree
    1. two cups vanilla ice cream
    2. ¾ cup egg nog
    3. 1 teaspoon nutmeg
    4. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  2. If you are feeling brave and want to make your own egg nog
    1. whisk six egg yolks and ½ cup sugar together in a small bowl.
    2. Then, in a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine
      1. one cup heavy cream
      2. 2 cups whole milk
      3. ¼ teaspoon sal
      4. ½ teaspoon nutmeg
      5. stir the mixture until it just reaches a simmer. 
    3. Next, add small spoons of the hot mixture to the egg mixture.
    4. Stir each spoonful and once most of the hot mixture has been added, add the entire mixture back to the saucepan. 
    5. Continue cooking and whisking two minutes until it begins to thicken.
    6. Remove from the heat and add ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract. 
    7. Refrigerate thoroughly before making a milkshake out of it.
