MEET THE ARTIST

Maxwell Hope (he/they), M.A., is a Ph.D. student in Linguistics at the University of Delaware with a research background in gender and speech. As a nonbinary trans man who has been the pursuer of voice therapy, Maxwell is intimately aware of the lack of research and clinical practice when it comes to voice therapy for gender-expansive individuals. His work aims to challenge the oftentimes exclusionary practices in the field of speech science.
